01/20/2018 – Another Liberian Class in the Books
This week we have seen the Liberian ministry take a giant leap. Let me explain. Just one year ago this month we had our first classroom here. It was good by any objective standard: 62 men and one woman finished their first course of this seven course curriculum. Not bad, I thought for the first go round. Then we came back in September for another class. This time Pastor Dixon and Advance came with GBTF to challenge the men about church planting. Twelve churches have been started in the last year with men who are presently training under GBTF. One of these churches is in the remote village where we preached last year. We returned this year to find a church started and growing and reaching this village for Christ!
One year later, GBTF returns for class three, and this time nearly one hundred men have submitted applications to start new churches in Liberia. We graduated another 62 men yesterday from training and are now committed to holding two separate two week sessions a year because of the demand for both training and church planting in the former war-torn West African nation. My head is spinning! Just a year ago today, I could never had imagined what God was going to do in this place, but He did and continues to do!
Today, we fly to Uganda for a conference of indigenous pastors. I will have one to two speaking opportunities to share Global Baptist Training Foundation. We’re looking for a solid and trustworthy host who wants us to come by 2020. By that time, the Liberian men will have finished the curriculum and will be training others themselves.
Let me thank you for praying and giving to GBTF! Pray that God will send us the resources to expand His work. If you are reading this and have never given to Global Baptist Training Foundation, let me encourage you to consider being a regular supporter for what God is doing among us!
For Him,
Bruce and Grace Snavely
