Dr. Bruce Snavely

Dr. Bruce Snavely, president and founder of GBTF, has spent his entire adult life in church planting, missions, or Christian education. God has uniquely qualified him to spearhead the Global Baptist Training Foundation with twenty years as a missionary/pastor, fifteen years as a professor in Bible colleges, and an education that includes a Master of Divinity degree and a PhD in Historical Theology from Trinity College at the University of Bristol, UK.

Bruce is the author of three books, the latest of which is ‘Indigenous’, released in December 2019. This highly readable volume chronicles the work of Global Baptist Training Foundation and challenges church leaders to bring balance to their missions programs by directly training and supporting nationals to reach their own nations for Christ. All of Bruce’s books are available at Amazon.com. Dr. Snavely is available for speaking engagements when he is not teaching courses internationally.

Mrs. Grace Snavely - Board Treasurer

Mrs. Grace Snavely has a Master of Education degree as well as significant additional graduate work in English at Harvard University. She is available for women’s studies courses and English instruction and has taught for GBTF in Myanmar, Hungary, and Rwanda. Since 95% of the available ministry resources (in print and online) are in English, many pastors and Christian workers on mission fields desire a better understanding of the English language to enhance their study options. For those pursuing further study in English, GBTF can offer English instruction alongside the theological training modules. When Grace is not traveling and teaching with Bruce, she loves to spend time with her 12 grandchildren.

Our Mission

Global Baptist Training Foundation currently operates in 14 countries on three continents where GBTF takes college-level theological training to pastors in developing nations without charge.

Each year, hundreds of pastors across the world receive on-site instruction in theological disciplines and practical studies. A total of fourteen courses make up two levels of training. Each class offers a certificate of completion after attendance and assessment requirements are met. A second level of training offers additional in-depth studies in preaching and Biblical exposition. The entire program offers a diploma after all fourteen courses are completed.

Upon being trained, every pastor is taught to become a trainer. Global Baptist Training Foundation focuses on raising up national trainers in every country where it presently serves who train others on a larger scale. Graduates are then supported to start new churches.

Because nationals already know the language, understand their own cultures, and love their own people, the results of this method are astounding, and have raised up hundreds of new churches across Africa, Myanmar, Mexico, and Haiti, and have evangelized thousands of new believers in Christ. Will you join us in the great mission of training the nationals?
