04/11/26 South Sudan, Malawi, and Children in Rwanda

South Sudan is inhabited by people who fled war in Sudan.   We have shared many stories from South Sudan (refugees, wells, poverty, pallets of clothes, etc). Now the fighting is moving from Sudan down into South Sudan.  In the north, the fighting is heavy, and people are fleeing into hiding. This includes many of our GBTF family!  In this picture, Joseph, Peter, and John are GBTF church planters that are currently on the run.

Recently, Samuel  was able to use the funds given by GBTF donors to distribute Bibles to new believers.  GBTF has many new churches across South Sudan, and we are now seeing the second building, funded by GBTF donors and partners, going up!   One of the new believers who received a Bible is a recently converted Muslim preacher. ( For his safety, we are not sharing his picture!)

A class ended yesterday in Dzaleka, Lilongwe, Malawi. 48 pastors and church leaders studied Interpretation of Scripture and Bibliology with Pastor Brasswell Nkhonjera, GBTF Southern Africa Director!  

Finally, Fidele SHINGA, GBTF African Continent Director, was able to teach a group of 500 children in Eastern Rwanda.   As Fidele says, this is the future of GBTF and winning Africa for Jesus Christ.  

This is even more exciting because we are taking a team to this very area in July!  We will be doing children’s ministry and village evangelism along with our GBTF church plants.  You can pray for this team and even help to cover some of their costs as they travel.  Plane tickets are at an all-time high, so those who are willing to travel could use support as they go to support these Eastern Rwanda churches! 

We have much to be thankful for, but we have much to pray for and work toward as well.  We love our GBTF team members who give, pray, and encourage us in this amazing work of training nationals to train nationals.
