06/05/26 Training Leads to Church Plants

Global Baptist Training Foundation exists to take college level theological and practical training to nationals who will then train others.

Classes like these – large and small are ongoing almost constantly in over 30 nations!

This is a recent class in Western Uganda.  We have shared this picture recently but wanted to contrast that some classes are very large. Others are smaller.  It depends on the area.

GBTF Trainer Glyn Kasinja Mwale completed a class in Hermeneutics (Interpretation of Scripture) just this week in Northern Malawi.  Many of the pastors brought their wives. At GBTF, we consider this a great victory because in the beginning, women were not included in Biblical training.  We have women’s training that is growing under three national leaders, but women are always welcome in theological training as well. So are their nursing babies!   Here is Pastor Glyn’s report:

“I taught Hermeneutics at Karonga Old Town Centre, Upper North Region. Twelve students attended with diligence and humility. The Spirit worked through the Word. As we studied sound principles of interpretation, the students were convicted and openly confessed errors in their past preaching caused by poor methods of handling Scripture. That confession is evidence of growth – God’s truth exposes, corrects, and restores 2 Timothy 3:16. We rejoice that these brethren are now better equipped to rightly divide the Word and feed the flock with faithfulness. May the Lord continue to establish them as workers who need not be ashamed.
Soli Deo Gloria,
*Glyn Kasinja Mwale*”

With over 220 national trainers, these reports are being duplicated over and over in more than 30 nations.  After students complete all 16 courses, their universal response has been to start new churches.  One of our final courses is Church Planting and Evangelism. Pictured here are two recent new churches in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).  The DRC is currently completely locked down due to and Ebola outbreak.  As well, rebel and military factions continue fighting and endangering the citizens.  Pray for the people of DRC, our GBTF family there, and these new churches!

We just received the report that in July, 2026, GBTF-trained pastors are starting 367 new churches.   367!   These are new churches with theologically grounded pastors!  Of course, new churches lead to people hearing the gospel, being baptized to publicly declare their faith in Jesus Christ, and then being taught!    We are seeing an average of almost 10,000 coming to faith in Christ every month! Training nationals is Biblical and effective.  Join us in taking this training into a rapidly growing number of nations!  www.globaltrain.org
