09/05/25 GBTF Now in Ghana

Global Baptist Training Foundation is constantly growing and expanding in several ways!

First, our 162 trainers are spreading out in their own countries training many others!!!   When we get pictures and videos, we love to pass them on to you!!   This  class in Mbarara, Uganda, is taught by Naboth Atusasire, GBTF East Africa Director, and Ntare Rodgers, GBTF African IT Director.  Along with other trainers in Uganda, they have classes ongoing almost constantly.  That means that intentional multiplication is constantly occurring! [Note the plastic chairs that are so common throughout Africa.   A new GBTF church  plant in South Sudan is now running over 500 in attendance. They need chairs!  The cost is $4000 USD.  We have sent $1000 on faith knowing this new church has nothing.  We also have submitted a request from a faithful donor to build a building for this church!]

Speaking of Ntare Rodgers, when he is not busy pastoring or training for GBTF, he has a small IT business and a growing family.

And if all that isn’t enough, he is the African IT Director. We’ve previously bragged on the amazing app he created for all of our GBTF team to use.   He just returned from the DRC where he trained our trainers in the use of new phones and the GBTF app!  Jackson Katebera is GBTF Country Coordinator for the DRC. He says, “It’s really wonderful.  We were blessed to receive him [Ntare] in our family!”  When Ntare had set up all of the equipment he had brought to demonstrate the use of the phones and the app, the electricity was out and did not come back on.  Jackson got a generator, but it also did not work.  So, Ntare gathered the trainers and church planters around his phone and carried on with the training!

Ntare travels this week to Burundi to continue IT training for GBTF trainers and church planters.  From Burundi, he continues to Tanzania and then Kenya.    Please pray for Ntare’s safety as he travels!  We still need several thousand dollars for phones for these trainers and church planters.   (You can read Ntare’s remarkable life story in Bruce’s upcoming book “The Voices of the Nationals!”)

Finally, our leadership team continues to open new countries.  This week, GBTF classes were offered for the first time in Ghana!

African Director Fidele Shinga, West African Director Philip Willie, and West African Field Representative James Tonga all worked together to make this class a success. Fidele says, “The class had 32 pastors and 2 women. This is our first class in Ghana and they are very excited to continue and grow… These men are mature, educated, and very committed!”

While in Ghana, our team surveyed Burkina Faso for future GBTF classes.  Philip Willie will be training in Niger in October and in Togo in November!

Thank you for praying and giving!   Training nationals to train nationals is a Biblical method that works!   www.globaltrain.org
