11/23/24 The Cost of Training

Global Baptist Training Foundation’s (GBTF) Fidele Shinga held a pastor training class in Western Rwanda.
Fidele Shinga held a pastor training class in Western Rwanda.

Fidele Shinga held a class last week in Western Rwanda.   Fidele is a tireless leader and trainer and is an excellent teacher and motivator.  Fidele has sent three three amazing stories from this class that show how important Global Baptist Training Foundation training is to these national pastors and church leaders.

Pastor Fidele Uzabakiriho rode his bike over 100 kilometers to get to the GBTF class in Western Rwanda.  For us Westerners, that is over 62 miles!  Travel is not easy in Africa. Most pastors do not own motorcycles or cars.  Their travel is by bus, bike, or on foot.

Speaking of “on foot,” Pastor Bikorimana Ildephonse WALKED for 15 hours to get to this class.  Many do not have funds to even take a bus.  Pastor Ildephonse did not allow that to become an excuse. He got up and started walking!!

Finally, Pastor Ndukutse Manasse also wanted to attend the training. He was a long distance away without funds for the transportation. So what did he do?  He did not just decide that he couldn’t make this trip.   Instead, he sold his goat and used the funds to travel to receive theological training from GBTF.

This is the cost of training. GBTF offers solid, Biblical, college-level theological training free of charge to national pastors and church leaders in one week modules on site in the nations where the pastors and church leaders live.

If these pastors are willing to pay this price to receive theological training, surely we can sacrifice to make sure training reaches them!  Help us take training to an ever growing number of countries.   Visit www.globaltrain.org to donate today!   We are happy to include in this email a video message from Pastor and Mrs. Justin Johnson (see below)!
