11/25/23 Women’s Ministry Takes Huge Step in Rwanda
The primary mission of Global Baptist Training Foundation is to theologically equip national pastors. But our secondary mission is to train other church leaders. Training pastors’ wives has been part of our practice since the beginning of GBTF in 2011. In the past 3-4 years, this women’s ministry has been hindered because Grace was taking care of her mom, who is now with the Lord. The budget for women’s ministry has also been diverted to national trainers who have needed finances to continue the rapid spread of GBTF throughout Africa.
We are thrilled to report that God has shown us the way forward for GBTF women’s ministry. Alice, the wife of GBTF East Africa Trainer, Fidele Shinga, has felt the call to travel alongside Fidele and train women using the training Grace has given (and will continue to give) Alice and the curriculum Grace has developed for training women to study the Bible.
We have raised support (mainly from women in the US) to enable Alice to quit her job and be full-time in the GBTF ministry. This is so exciting.
Last week, we had 64 women in a class in southern Rwanda. Alice organized and planned this two-day conference. It was an exciting time of fellowship and study. The GBTF women’s curriculum trains women to do good Bible study in a variety of ways. These women were excited and receptive. This is the beginning of great things for the women of Africa.
We look forward to great reports in the future as Alice leads our GBTF Women’s Ministry in East Africa.
