Spiritual Revival in Africa

Nearly 30 years ago Rwanda was nearly decimated by a genocide between two modern warring tribes.  The terror of those ninety days will never be forgotten by either those who survived or those who watched the results of this human tragedy on their televisions.  However today, Rwanda is unrecognizable from the days when its very existence lay in peril.  It is now the gem of Africa, and its return to civility and progress is something of a modern miracle, and is the envy of every African country surrounding it and those beyond its borders.  

But another supernatural thing was evidenced this week in Butare, Rwanda, that rivals that of the return from genocide; that is the spiritual movement that Global Baptist Training Foundation is witnessing.  

This week 25 African trainers from GBTF met for a week of intense preparation for embarking as national, regional, and local trainers. There was great joy, tears, intense fellowship, prayer, and deep discussions about things theological and practical. Our hosts, Fidele and his wife Alice, provided cake and sparkling cider as a celebration for this unique gathering from across Eastern Africa.  The men sang and praised God for His work among them.
