06/25/23 GBTF Work Going Forward Across Africa
We are thrilled at what GBTF-trained nationals are doing all over the continent of Africa. Global Baptist Training Foundation’s mission is to train nationals to train nationals. We call this intentional multiplication. We train one pastor thoroughly and watch him go out to train others, plant new churches with pastors who are GBTF trained as well, evangelize, disciple, and baptize.
Just one of our faithful students in Uganda, Pastor Atusasire Rwabaryongo (AKA Pastor Naboth) is a great example of GBTF philosophy and ministry. He has been trained through our Uganda classes and will graduate next month. He has a burden to plant churches in all of the villages in his area of Uganda. He is seeing God do great things. In this village where a new church is being planted, Pastor Naboth had the privilege of leading a man to Christ that he has witnessed to for 15 years. This new work is growing quickly and reaching a large village for Christ.
Pastor Naboth also uses his Global Baptist Training Foundation curriculum to train other pastors and church leaders. This is the ultimate in training nationals to train nationals. We thank God for Pastor Naboth and many others like him! Others in Uganda are doing the same things! We have previously reported about the trainers who travel into Sudan and train pastors. We will tell you more in coming days.
Of course, Fidele continues, as our full-time trainer, to train pastors in many East African nations. He is still opening up new countries for GBTF classes. Fidele is an amazing teacher and is a gift of God to GBTF. This week, he saw a group in Ethiopia complete two more courses toward completing their training.
There are currently 40 church plants in Uganda through GBTF trained pastors and 91 others in various other African nations. An even larger number will be planted in the latter part of this year. We are thankful to partner with Advance who supports these church planters for one year. What a great joy to be involved in this great work! Your giving makes this great effort possible.
