03/29/2026 Training in Congo, Building in South Sudan, and Women’s Training in Liberia

Training continues around the continent of Africa.  Recently, Jackson Katebera, Global Baptist Training Foundation National Coordinator for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), traveled to Katanga in South Kivu County.   Jackson says that, despite the severe rain every day, 56 pastors attended and completed several courses in a 10 day period. (We often complete multiple classes to make travel more fruitful for those who struggle with travel funds.  This also saves funds for GBTF Trainers.).

The sad news from this class was that one of the pastors attending, Pastor Mupanda, lost his home and all contents to fire while he was in class.

Jackson once again had the joy of training his own biological father who has been in pastoral ministry since he was 18 years old with no training.

During the regional training in Liberia last week, GBTF women’s training took place. With about 60 women present, Esther Atusasire and Lydia Togba team taught.    These two women along with Fidele Shinga’s wife, Alice, are leading GBTF women’s training.  Please pray for this growing and vital part of the GBTF training ministry.

Finally, we are excited to see a new building going up for a GBTF church plant in South Sudan. We thank God for our partners who are funding this new building. We will continue to highlight this building, as well as two others, in coming weeks.

Please continue to pray for wisdom as GBTF grows rapidly.   We have seen great victories in recent days but have also faced some challenges. Your faithfulness to give and pray move and multiply the training and the gospel forward.
