Training Trainers (Rwanda)
This week, Bruce is in Rwanda for a new type of class. 25 pastors have traveled from 6 (Rwanda, Malawi, Tanzania, Burundi, Kenya, and Congo) nations to begin the process of training to become trainers. Having already been trained through Global Baptist Training Foundation classes, these men now want to do what Fidèle Shinga is doing by taking GBTF materials and mission to even more nations. This is the first of several weeks of training for these potential trainers. Fidèle is translating as well as helping to equip these trainers with his experience. Please pray for this week’s training as it represents the future of intentional multiplication which is the bedrock principle behind all that GBTF does. II Timothy 2:2 is our theme verse. In this verse, Paul told Timothy to take everything he had learned from Paul and teach it to faithful men who would be able to teach still others. We are trying to follow that Biblical model, and we are seeing it work! Right now, about 100 new church plants are underway through the efforts of GBTF trained pastors. 91 of these are being supported minimally ($50 per month for one year) by our ministry partner, Advance. Add those to the over 400 church plants that have already been started and you have an amazing example of how equipping nationals is the most effective method of spreading the gospel.
